ClearView Charity of the Month, December: Christmas Hamper Program

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

The holidays are coming and everyone at ClearView is definitely in the holiday spirit. For those of you who do not know, ClearView has begun a Charity of the Month Program and we are very excited about the Calgary charity that was chosen for the month of December.

The charitable program that will receive our attention this December is the Christmas Hamper program, organized by the North East Calgary Adopt a Family Society. The idea behind this great holiday program is to provide a little holiday cheer and comfort to families throughout Calgary who are struggling to a little harder than other families.

The staff and friends at ClearView are committed to helping three low income Calgary families by filling one hamper for each family with enough food staples for one week, all of the fixings and trimmings for a great holiday meal, and gifts for the children in the family.

The entire ClearView staff is excited to shop for and fill these hampers our selves but it is our customers and clients that we really need to thank because without you, this giving would not be possible. We are taking a portion earnings from each service call we make to help pay for the contents of the hampers. If you are interested in doing more to help, however, you do not need to bust a pipe! Simply visit the Christmas Hamper Program website, call (403) 590-6656 or send an email to necaafs@shaw.ca.

Do you know of a great charity that we can focus on next month? Please fill out a quick form on the ClearView Plumbing and Heating Website. For the next 12 months we will randomly select a charity every month to focus our attention and efforts towards. We will donate $1000 to the charity and try to raise awareness about the cause.

Let’s keep the holiday spirit going strong all year long!

Annual Inspections to Help Combat the Effects of Heat Exchanger Failure

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Your heat exchanger is a type of a barrier and it’s purpose is to contain a controlled fire, allow heat to reach your home, and to filter and divert dangerous toxins and gases that could otherwise be detrimental to your family’s health, and perhaps even fatal (i.e. Carbon Monoxide).

It is our job at ClearView to help you protect your family by searching for any cracks, holes, corrosion, or defects. We will do this as part of an annual inspection, which you can pre-schedule with us at your convenience. As far as we know, there is not a single manufacturer who does not STRONGLY recommend an annual inspection due to the high potential for stress and the highly acidic moisture that is constantly being emitted. This moisture can cause high levels of corrosion fairly quickly and long term.

So the bad news is that corrosion and damage is common, making annual inspections pretty much a necessity. Now for the good news!

The good news is that ClearView Heating and plumbing employs only experienced and knowledgeable technicians who are dedicated to following to the letter both the Fuel Gas Code Annex H and American Gas Association guidelines. Our technicians perform four different types of inspections to ensure we catch any and every problem that your heat exchanger could be experiencing: visual, flame disturbance, dye penetrates, and tracer gas. As part of our multi level inspection, we utilize sophisticated and cutting edge patent pending technology that enables us to detect hazardous Carbon Monoxide much earlier than ever before.

And the good news just keeps on coming! We offer only high quality equipment and replacement parts that come with excellent warranties. Our service is guaranteed as well!

Make sure to check out our website for more info on annual furnace inspections in Calgary.

Home Carbon Monoxide Detectors Are Not Enough to Provide 100% Protection

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Did you know that the typical home detector for carbon monoxide (CO) is not designed to be your only form of protection against deadly carbon monoxide emissions? Your average home unit should be considered as your family’s very last resort warning only. It is simply not sensitive enough to ensure early detection of CO. Also, home units will not provide an even coverage of protection throughout your home.

An annual furnace inspection, which the professionals at ClearView will prearrange at the convenience of your schedule, will include several CO tests that will be 10 x or more effective than your typical home carbon monoxide detection kit. Our experienced technicians are trained and skilled at a variety of CO test methods and come to your home equipped with only the most sophisticated and sensitive CO detection technology. While we are there, we inspect your furnace for other potentially hazardous situations as well. We search for, holes, cracks, stress, moisture build up and every problem your family’s furnace can face. In other words, we perform the exact same annual inspection for you as we do for our own families.

Don’t rely on a gadget when it comes to protecting your family from fatal carbon monoxide emissions. There is a reason why furnace manufacturers STRONGLY recommend an annual inspection. Call ClearView Heating & Plumbing today and get our family treatment. Or visit our website for more info on carbon monoxide testing in Calgary.
