Calgary’s Punctual Plumber Donates $1,000 To Calgary Women’s Centre
From Crisis Assistance To Learning English, From Helping Those With Disabilities To Helping Women Obtain Employment, Calgary’s Women’s Centre Is Making A Positive Impact In The Lives of Calgary Girls and Women
Women’s Centre Helps Women Recognize and Stop Family Violence
Over 70% of women using the Women’s Centre report that they are currently or have been in a violent relationship. Centre personnel work with other agencies to help women at risk. The Centre’s efforts have been recognized with the Tulip Community Partnership Award.
Calgary Women’s Centre Assists Women With Emergency Needs
The Women’s Centre attempts to assist women with emergency needs such things as groceries, critical travel, toys for children, or birthday presents. Naturally, their ability to provide these goods and services is based on financial support from the community.
Women With Developmental Disabilities Acquire Life Skills In Women’s Center "Collective Kitchen"
The Centre also provides women with developmental disabilities opportunities to make meaningful social connections and integrate with the larger Calgary community. Women learn critical skills such as choosing and preparing meals, shopping on a budget, and other lifestyle skills to promote their independence and happiness.
Calgary Women Use Centre Resources To Prepare For Employment Opportunities and Keep In Touch With Family
The Women’s Centre has free access to computers with internet, a photocopier, fax machine, and phones. Area women often come to the center to use these resources to prepare for or make employment arrangements, complete school work, or keep in touch with family and friends. Centre volunteers also can take messages for women without permanent homes.
Once again, ClearView is proud to donate $1,000 to benefit the Women’s Centre to help them in their mission to help women in crisis, with education, and with these other necessary services.
