Immigrant Access Fund Is Clearview's September Charity of the Month
Calgary, AB (Canada) – October 14, 2010. ClearView Plumbing announced that the Immigrant Access Fund is the winner of its September 2010 Charity of the Month.
For over a decade, ClearView Plumbing has been deeply involved in the communities of greater Calgary. ClearView established the Charity of the Month program as a way to support those organizations that help enhance life in our communities – like the Immigrant Access Fund does each day.
Daily we hear research figures and news stories on the vibrant immigrant culture this country is building. We also hear that the Canadian economy cannot grow without an adequate qualified worker base. Immigrants regularly arrive in Canada equipped with skills, but they are unable to navigate the Canadian system. The future of our country depends on productively integrating their energy and skills into the Canadian workforce.
“For three out of four of our businesses, the labour shortage is the number one issue,” says Heather Douglas, President & CEO of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce. IAF offers Alberta individuals and corporations like ClearView Plumbing the opportunity to join other interested citizens who are establishing a fund to provide micro loans for skilled immigrants.
ClearView selects the Charity of the Month by random draw from a group of organizations nominated by members of the community through the Clearview website or by mail. Winners are featured on the ClearView site.
