June 2010 Charity–of–the–Month

June Charity–of–the–Month Donation Goes to Renfrew Educational Services

Renfrew Educational Services was first established in 1974. It began as a community-based kindergarten program and now has more than 650 students in five locations across Calgary, including its Main School and the Special Services Centre which offers expanded services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Cerebral Palsy.

While recognized as a leader in program development for children with special needs, Renfrew also offers exceptional learning experiences for typically developing children.

Renfrew Programs

Renfrew offers individualized programs to meet the needs of each child, innovative teaching, specialist teams, specialized educational and therapeutic programs, and advanced technology and assistive devices.

Renfrew provides preschool and elementary education programs along with specialized programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and those with motor disabilities. They also provide diagnosis and intervention services for children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).

Door–to–door transportation is available for students who meet boundary requirements. Drivers are trained in First Aid, CPR and defensive driving.

After–School and Summer Programs

Renfrew provides weekly fitness programs after school. Their Learning Independent Functional Everyday (LIFE) program helps special needs children and adults with everyday living skills. Specialized summer programs help children with speech challenges, reading and writing, and basic life skills.

Community Services and Family Support

Renfrew specializes in community–based intervention services for children, including speech language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Renfrew psychologists also offer assessment and treatment services that are easily accessible with limited wait times. Family support services help families find the resources they need to answer the questions and concerns they have about raising their special needs children.

For more information on the education programs available at Renfrew, visit the Renfrew Educational Services website.

ClearView is very happy to make a $1,000 donation to support the educational programs and community services provided by Renfrew Educational Services.
