ClearView Plumbing and Heating Adds To Government Rebates for Home Energy Improvements

We want to see you benefit from the many government programs available now for home energy retrofits. To help motivate you, we are offering a $400 cash rebate to cover the costs of your home energy assessment. Let us explain how it works.

Under the federal government’s ecoEnergy retrofit program, you can receive grants for installing a high–efficiency furnace and water heater. (Eligibility depends on the type and efficiency level of the equipment being installed.) The program requires an energy assessment of your home, carried out by a certified energy adviser. A follow–up assessment must also be done to evaluate any renovations made. Our $400 cash rebate will help you cover the costs of these energy evaluations.

There are other government programs available too. The provincial government is stepping in with its own incentive program. Offering up to $500 when you install a new high–efficiency furnace, the province of Alberta is seeking to motivate homeowners in this province to complete energy efficient upgrades for the good of the environment.

And, if you act quickly, you can get even more money back from the federal government. Under the Home Renovation Tax Credit, you can receive a maximum tax credit of $1,350 for eligible home renovations, which include new furnaces and hot water heaters installed between January 27, 2009 and February 1, 2010. Overall costs for your renovations must be between $1,000 and $10,000. The credit is available only for the 2009 taxation year.
